Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that all children, regardless of income or background, has the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

| Y Mentors is a nonprofit, community based mentoring program serving youth grades K-12 in Olmsted County, in need of a positive adult role model with caring adult volunteers. Each adult volunteer is matched with one youth, based on similar interests.To enhance the mentoring experience, Y Mentors provides on-going support, free monthly activities, YMCA resources, and community opportunities to foster long-term quality relationships. Our mentors offer their friendship and guidance to build a healthy mind, body and spirit in their Mentee. We serve 150 youth annually and on average 50-60 youth are waiting for a mentor. OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP:
The strength of the Rochester Area Family YMCA Y Mentors program is directly related to the support it receives from its community. Please help us today!- Volunteer in our office ~ file, shred documents, organize, create spreadsheets, etc.
- Student Internship ~We welcome any college students looking to get more experience, be it your field experience or senior practicum in Social Work. We are open to other social service students as well.
- Host a fundraiser/benefit for Y Mentors ~ Do a bake sale, through a party, be creative to help out a great cause!
- Donate money to allow Y Mentors to reach out to more children at risk ~ Funding is always tight & donations help us reach more youth & match them with a caring adult Mentor.
- Donate items: Coming soon!
- Drop items off at the front desk of the Rochester Area Family YMCA & ask them to give the items to Y Mentors.
